Field of Remembrance at the going down of the sun at Salamanca Lawn at Wellington Botanic
Gardens, April 2016
Image No. A7R2-Field of Remembrance
The last rays of the sun light up a large number of personalised white
crosses to commemorate soldiers around the Wellington region who made the
supreme sacrifice during World War One (1914 - 1918).
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
