Raumati South Beach near
Wellington, New Zealand - Kapiti Island can be seen in the background
Image No. Raumati-Beach-1
At high tide the sea can come in over the breakwater, which makes for an
exhilarating walk! Over the years, the sea has gradually moved in closer to
the coastal homes. The rails in the picture show where it is possible to
walk down to the beach when the tide isn't too high!

To obtain the best appreciation of the quality of the images on this site, they
should be displayed at a relatively small size, because each image has been
reduced in size to a maximum width of only 870 pixels, from the original
width of at least 4900 pixels (or 6000 pixels from my full frame cameras).
In addition, the images have been saved at a low quality setting.
